Hydrogen peroxide  cas ：7722-84-1 (with the chemical formula H2O2) is a blue, slightly irritating-smelling viscous liquid. It is relatively stable in the dark and can easily decompose into oxygen and water when heated, exposed to light, or in the presence of certain impurities. It can dissolve in water in any proportion. Due to the oxidation valence of -1 in hydrogen peroxide, it can be used as a (strong) oxidizing agent, (weak) reducing agent, bleaching agent, etc., and is widely applied in inorganic synthesis (such as the production of sodium perborate), organic synthesis (such as the production of peracetic acid), medical disinfection, clinical chemistry, textile bleaching, food testing, etc. It has strong oxidizing properties, and its oxidizing power is significantly higher in acidic solutions than in alkaline solutions. When used as an oxidizing agent, the product is mainly water and no toxic waste is produced. Hydrogen peroxide can also be produced through electrolysis, usually under strong acid or strong base conditions. In the chemical industry, it is used as a raw material for manufacturing sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, peracetic acid, sodium chlorite, and other inorganic or organic peroxides; it is used to produce metal salts or other compounds to remove iron and other heavy metals; it is used in electroplating solutions to remove inorganic impurities and improve the quality of the plated parts. In medicine, it is mainly used as a bactericide. It is used as a bleaching agent for wool, silk, fur, feathers, ivory, horsehair, pulp, fat, etc. It can also be used as a food processing agent, food bleaching agent, food preservative and freshness preserver. In recent years, it has been widely used in paper-plastic sterile packaging materials for sterilization before packaging. High concentrations of hydrogen peroxide can be used as rocket fuel and oxygen source.

Hydrogen peroxide has both oxidizing and reducing properties and can be used for the preservation of bagged tofu. The dosage is 0.86g/kg and the residual amount must not be detectable. It can also be used for the preservation of raw milk, with a dosage of 0.3% 2mL per liter of raw milk and 15mg of sodium thiocyanate. It is only applicable in Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia regions.

Used in industrial water treatment as a bactericidal and algicidal agent. It can also be used as a bleaching agent for the bleaching of fabrics and pulp.
