Application:

1. Pentaerythrotol is mainly used in the coating industry to manufacture alkyd resin coatings, which can improve the hardness, gloss and durability of the coating film.

2. Pentaerythrotol can also be used as the raw material of rosin resin for paints, varnishes and printing inks, and can be used to make dry oil, smoldering coating and aviation lubricating oil.

3. Pentaerythrotol is also used in the production of pesticides.

4. Pentaerythrotol contains four equivalent hydroxymethyl groups with high symmetry, so it is often used as raw material for the preparation of multi-functional compounds. Pentaerythrotol tetranitrate can be prepared by nitration, which is a high explosive; Pentaerythrotol triacrylate can be obtained by esterification and used as coating. It can also be used as a flame retardant of adhesive.
